Boy or Girl? How About a Jungle-Themed Baby Shower?
Remember how it feels to be a parent for the first time? The excitement of seeing the baby, the fear of the changes that comes with it – feelings and emotions that new parents usually have. Some wants to know the gender of their babies so they can prepare the things that will be appropriate for them. Others however, just want to savor the excitement a little longer and want the baby’s gender to be a surprise. If you will host a unisex baby shower, a Jungle-themed baby shower is a perfect choice!
LA-based Véronique Events had organized a baby shower for a mom who wants to be surprised at Manhattan Beach Country Club. Since the gender of the baby is not known yet, Véronique and her crew decorated opted for a Jungle-themed baby shower. They incorporated stuffed animals like giraffe, zebra, lion, tiger, monkey, and more to all of their decorations.
Here’s how the table at the entrance looked like:
A big giraffe adorned with colorful ribbons led the way to the reception area.
Every table had a baby shower centerpiece of stuffed animals propped on a bed of flowers and greenery. This one shows the King of the Jungle, the Lion, sunning himself.
A donkey trotted out into a colorful garden…
And the most popular jungle animal in the event, the giraffe, stood tall and regal among the flowery shrubs!
To keep to the Jungle-themed shower, Véronique Events prepared animal-shaped candles as baby shower favors. They have Safari-inspired boxes with cute animal tags and gold ribbons.
The guests enjoyed brunches such as Vegetarian Quiche Smoked Salmon with capers, tomatoes, onions; Greek Yogurt Parfaits; sliced fresh fruits; and maple syrup and whipped butter Pancakes. Caesar Salad, Asian Salad, Hot Buffet Chicken Breast, and cheese tortellini with pesto cream were also part of the menu. They also set up an Omelet Station where guests can choose the toppings or fillings that they want. The choices were feta cheese, cheddar cheese, salsa, guacamole, veggies, mushrooms, and caramelized onions.
For the kids, they have a Kid’s Buffet of Mac ‘n Cheese and French Fries with ketchup on the side.
The guests indulged themselves in chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and other pastries of the world. The beverages included coffee, hot tea, iced tea, lemonade, and mimosas.
If you will be working with a limited budget, you can DIY the centerpieces and other decorations. Replacing the menu for simpler dishes and beverages would also help. But, if you have plenty of funds to hire an event planner then, do so. You can have the Jungle-themed baby shower or any baby shower theme that you like customized to your needs.
